It’s fun learning a few words in another language. It impresses the waiters, tickles the love interest, and makes the natives sit up and take notice. But misunderstandings and malapropisms are bound to happen, in English and in Greek. And pronunciation matters!! Growing up, I was amazed at how little was known about the Orthodox Church outside. Literally, most Americans still have no idea who or what we are.
